Coming into this world, we recognize that each person has desires. We are human and it’s normal to have them because God, in whose image we have been made also has desires. He desires that we are well, happy and most importantly saved and getting ready to meet Him some day. We must understand however, that these desires do not warrant wrong behaviour. The fact that we desire something doesn’t mean we do the worst of things to get them. Recognising that wealth is not acquired overnight, we must live content not envying people who through dubious means have amassed wealth. Yes, they seem comfortable and seem to have everything under control especially because of their many possessions and abundant state. The Bible says we should never envy them. We shouldn’t for a second think to choose their ways in wanting to attain our goals. God detests their ways and it doesn’t end well with them especially in eternity. Focus on God to help you, and that’s when you can enjoy wealth that comes with longevity and no trouble
Take a moment to Think and Declare
What are my desires? How am I working at fulfilling them?
Declaration
Heavenly Father, thank you for today’s Word. I pray for grace to not envy anyone but to trust You in all things. Help me to shaken my desires as You please in Jesus mighty name. Amen.
