“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” — Ephesians 2:10 (KJV)
Have you ever wondered why you were created and what your purpose is? I have pondered this question many times. Not all talents are immediately recognized; some take time to surface and are often discovered through the environments we inhabit.
I have encountered individuals who are certain of their purpose and are either actively pursuing it or on the path to doing so. I find this truly inspiring. Yet, deep down, I often ask myself: What am I meant for? What is my purpose? While I recognize that I am destined for more than I sometimes believe, it’s easy to look at the successes of others and feel inadequate or lost.
As a child of the King, you have been preordained to be associated with good works! You are God’s masterpiece, created for good! Here, “good” signifies benefit. You are meant for beneficial works; you are worthy of every investment and will yield positive results.
A friend once told me, “We are all different; some are building one-story buildings while others are constructing skyscrapers.” However, at the end of the day, remember this: you are destined for good works! It certainly takes more expertise and time to build a skyscraper than a one-story structure.
Perhaps it has taken you a while to truly discover your purpose and identity. Rest assured that every step you take and every path you walk is leading you closer to that realization. We often do not see the light until we reach the end of the tunnel. Consider gold—a rare and coveted metal. The process of concentrating gold into mineable deposits took millions to billions of years. It may have seemed elusive, but today, we value gold as a precious and expensive resource. Moreover, the process of refining pure gold is lengthy and laborious, yet it ultimately emerges as a beautiful treasure. What was once buried in dirt which often overlooked and dismissed happens to hold hidden riches within.
To avoid feeling disheartened or negative about yourself, believe in the Word and be convinced of its truth—you are meant for good works! Your contributions may not seem grand in the eyes of others; they may appear small, but before God, they shine like dazzling lights. As long as you remain committed to being God’s workmanship and have surrendered your life to Him, you are destined to do good and for good.
Keep walking the path you find yourself on. In the end, you will see how all your experiences have contributed to the promotion that awaits you. This version enhances clarity and flow while preserving your original message.
Heavenly Father,
I am grateful to be considered for good works. Today I trust YOUR WORD over my thoughts that regardless of what may seem to me as not enough, YOU have destined me for good and benefiting outcomes! In JESUS mighty name. AMEN
