So we are convinced that every detail of our lives is continually woven together for good, for we are His lovers who have been called to fulfill His designed purpose.
-Romans 8:28 TPT
Life is decorated with sunny and dark days. I have often heard people say, “It is part of life,” when I go through a hard season. I love when it’s sunny—when I don’t have to stress to get what I need, and when the world seems to be working in my favor. These moments tend to change our confessions and thought lives! We feel more confident and happy about life until the other guy shows up.
Dark days are those we never pray for or hope to experience. In fact, I once heard a minister say that a person is either just getting out of trouble or about to enter into one. The circumstances of life can be likened to a roller coaster—high and exciting at one moment, low and disappointing at another. However, with GOD on our side, it is a perpetual victory parade!
Before I sat down to write this, I was led by the Holy Spirit to listen to a sermon I had opened earlier as part of my study and in preparation of a podcast I am working on for this week. I was blessed not only because it was a good message but because I heard from HIM directly concerning my life. I have found myself in a season of wondering and asking, "Is this GOD? Is HE with me?" Yes, there are seasons like that—when what you experience starkly contrasts the loving, good GOD you have heard of. It seems impossible to associate HIM with what you perceive as a bad omen from the enemy’s camp. To my surprise, the HOLY SPIRIT said to me, "This is how I am making you. This is how you are becoming. This is a path I have tailored for you to walk so that I may be glorified."
I love today’s scripture! It says we are convinced! We are convinced not by the flesh but from the standpoint of faith and the spirit realm. Earlier in this chapter, we are told that life in the Spirit is more important than life in the flesh! We walk by the Spirit and not by the flesh; every single thing that happens to us is harmoniously working together for our good, fashioned by ELOHIM. This year has been tough. Looking back, I would not associate any of my struggles with GOD. But tadaa! HE was orchestrating it all along to align me with HIS will.
Consider Jonah in the whale's belly! How could GOD allow such a thing? That was Jonah’s doom and death! It is believed that nothing can survive the acidic conditions of a whale’s belly. He truly died, yet GOD brought him back to life (Jonah 1:17). Further evidence is that Jesus likened Himself and the death He must endure to Jonah in the belly of the whale (Matthew 12:40).
I remember when I was preparing to pursue my master’s degree. I began in faith, believing that it would work out. Along the way, my father—who was my sponsor—fell ill, and I had to stop. I felt broken and let down. Although this occurred, I also sensed in my spirit that it was not just an attack on my dad but on my pursuit as well. In 2023, GOD caused me to close this pursuit with a much higher and globally recognized certification. GOD is not limited; He is able to turn all things around!
Dear friend, brother, and sister, whatever you are going through—whether it comes from GOD or the enemy—it is going to work out for your good because everything is subject to GOD. HE works all things together for us because we are HIS lovers—those who have boldly declared our love for HIM without shying away. Most amazing of all, we have been called to fulfill a plan HE has in store for us. Remember, everything is working toward the beautiful purpose HE has planned for you and will come to pass.
Father, I trust YOU. Because YOU grace me to love YOU, all things are working for my good. That which I see as evil and that which I see as good! I am grateful that my life is in your hands and you directing it just right an according to YOUR perfect and wise plan.
