His passion is to remain true to the Word of “I AM,” meditating day and night on the true revelation of light. He stands firm like a flourishing tree, planted by God’s design, deeply rooted by the brooks of bliss, bearing fruit in every season of life. He is never dry, never fainting, ever blessed, ever prosperous.
Psalms 1:2-3 TPT Often, when listening to people discuss the paths they have chosen, they emphasize their passion. They often say things like: “It is what I love to do,” “My heart goes out to these people,” “I am drawn to them,” “I believe it’s my life’s call,” “I won’t and can’t find myself doing anything else,” or “This is what I was born to do.”
People pay attention to what they are passionate about. I am passionate about GOD and the things that concern GOD, which is why I am writing this under HIS leadership and pursuing other tasks that I believe HE has asked me to undertake. Passion fuels many endeavors; it can be either evil or good. It brings ideas into being and sees them through to completion. The passion of GOD’s love for us led HIM to bring forth HIS one and only Son, JESUS, to die for us. JESUS’s passion for us caused HIM to endure immense suffering so that we could be liberated from the bondage of sin, the devil, and their influences. Passion is often singular and focused on one goal until it is fulfilled.
For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life.
John 3:16 AMPC
In today’s scripture, we learn about the passion of a blessed person—someone who keeps GOD at the forefront of their thoughts. Their singular goal is to stay true to the WORD of GOD, achieved through intentional meditation on it. As a general rule of thumb, what you focus on or meditate upon shapes who you become. As you think, so you are (Proverbs 23:7), which is why the Bible emphasizes thinking pure thoughts (Philippians 4:8). This transformation is possible through GOD’s Word (Romans 12:2). Within the WORD of GOD lies life; JESUS, who is the Word, is referred to as the true light of life.
A fountain of life was in Him, for His life is light for all humanity. And this Light never fails to shine through darkness—Light that darkness could not overcome!
John 1:4-5 TPT
The benefit of staying true to the WORD of GOD includes infallible proofs such as fruitfulness. Everyone is attracted to a tree that bears fruit. Moreover, during times when others experience a downturn, the WORD OF GOD enables the blessed one to stand firm regardless of circumstances. Those who remain steadfast in uncertain times are admired because they stand apart from the norm. The blessed one is described as deeply rooted—immovable. They never faint; they are ever blessed and ever prosperous—not because problems do not arise but because the WORD of GOD within them empowers them to stand.
A perfect example of a prosperous man is Daniel, who remained useful and relevant for a long time while serving four regimes. Daniel exemplified unwavering faithfulness and integrity throughout his life in Babylonian captivity. His commitment to righteousness allowed him not only to thrive personally but also to influence powerful kings like Nebuchadnezzar and Darius significantly. This was possible because he remained in GOD (Daniel 6:10).
This concept parallels JESUS’ parable about the man who built his house on THE ROCK. Regardless of what challenges arose, he stood firm. This illustrates that the key to standing strong is the WORD of GOD (Matthew 7:24-29).
Do you consider yourself blessed? Then let the WORD of GOD be your focus. If you expect to be called blessed, you must fix your eyes on the WORD OF GOD.
This Book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night so that you may observe and do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous and then you shall deal wisely and have good success.Joshua 1:8 AMPC
