"Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he’s the one who will keep you on track. Don’t assume that you know it all." — Proverbs 3:5
To trust in God is to confide in Him. When we confide in God, we find a sense of security and relief from fear, rooted in our understanding of Him as reliable, willing, and able. Just as we share our deepest secrets, worries, triumphs, and weaknesses with trusted friends or elders, we should also turn to God with our burdens. Often, we seek counsel from those around us while neglecting the Ancient of Days, who has existed before all creation.
It is human nature to lean on our own understanding. We often believe that our limited experiences grant us the wisdom to navigate life’s challenges. In moments of difficulty, it’s easy to turn to quick solutions—like searching online—rather than seeking divine guidance. I have often found myself misled by information from the internet, learning through experience that seeking God first is essential; after all, He holds the ultimate manual for my life.
We were not designed to navigate this life alone. The truth is, we need God in everything we do and everywhere we go because He knows all things. The more we acknowledge our dependence on Him, the more our lives can flourish.
Consider David, a great warrior and one of Israel's finest leaders. In 1 Samuel 30:6-8, we see that his first instinct upon receiving devastating news was to seek God Himself. Throughout his life, David consistently set aside his own understanding and experience to surrender to God's counsel. His journey teaches us that life is spiritual and that each battle—though it may appear similar—requires a unique approach.
God is the one who keeps us on track, protects us from trouble, and aligns us with His purpose. When we recognize our limitations and acknowledge that we do not have all the answers, He steps in to guide us. Let us confide in Him wholeheartedly, trusting that He will lead us toward greatness.
Pray to GOD to help you trust HIM
Pray for that you will not rely or lean on your understanding
