In August 2022, a dedicated team embarked on a mission to Sapeliga, Ghana, to provide support and share the gospel with local communities. The team of five left Accra on Monday, August 8, and arrived in Sapeliga on Tuesday, August 9, where they finalized plans for a series of outreach activities. This mission was made possible by God through the generous support of our donors and volunteers.
Engaging with Local Schools
On Wednesday, August 10, the outreach activities began with visits to two local schools: Salpiiga Government School and Sapeliga Government School. These institutions serve students from Kindergarten through Junior High School (JHS). The team donated essential supplies, including stationery items such as pens, pencils, erasers, rulers, and exercise books for each child. Additionally, shoes were provided for those in need, along with sanitary kits for female students. It is through God's provision that we were able to make these donations possible.
Community Support and Evangelism
The following day, Thursday, August 11, the team visited Kaare Government School and reached out to nursing mothers in Bolinga, a sub-district of Sapeliga. While the mothers gathered to weigh their children, the team shared the gospel, leading many individuals from different faith backgrounds to accept Jesus Christ into their lives. Each mother received a set of diapers as part of the support provided. This outreach was a testament to how God made it possible through our efforts.
The team also visited Guzeongo Government School, where they donated exercise books, pens, pencils, erasers, sharpeners, and learning charts for kindergarten to enhance teaching efforts. Sanitary kits were distributed to female students as well. That evening marked the beginning of four days of crusades during a week-long event called "7 Days of Bliss." The first crusade was held indoors in Salpiiga due to unexpected weather changes. Despite limitations on attendance, many souls were saved and testimonies of healing emerged—particularly regarding heart conditions that had been completely resolved.
Continued Outreach Efforts
On Friday, August 12, the team engaged in door-to-door and market evangelism in Salpiiga. The evening culminated in another crusade where numerous individuals experienced salvation and healing.
On Saturday, August 13, a health screening was conducted at Sapeliga Government School from 10 AM to 6 PM. This initiative attracted many community members who received both medical attention and the gospel message with joy. Additionally, the team collaborated with midwives in the Sapeliga district to donate diapers and sanitary towels to new mothers at the local hospital.
Encouragement for Local Churches
On Sunday, August 14, the team visited various Pentecostal churches in the community to encourage congregants to remain steadfast in their faith despite feeling different or out of place. The final crusade was held on Monday, August 15 in Kaare. Prior to this event, donations of health equipment and consumables were made to the local health facility (clinic/maternity ward) in Sapeliga.
Supporting Students Preparing for Exams
On Tuesday, August 16, the team visited BECE students camping in Sapeliga to prepare for their exams through the support of a local NGO. During this visit, stationery items such as pens, pencils, exercise books, and rulers were provided for exam preparation. Sanitary towels were also distributed to female students along with skill training sessions aimed at helping them earn some money while waiting for their results.
A Visit to Nyamedua Children’s Home
On Wednesday, August 17—the day of their return to Accra—the team visited Nyamedua Children’s Home's new site in Pusu Namango. This site was constructed through the support of partners last year. The team donated essential items such as toothbrushes, soap, and sanitary towels before heading back to Accra on Thursday, August 18.
Conclusion
This outreach trip not only provided material support but also spiritual nourishment to the community. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve and share hope with those in need.
To God be the Glory for great things He has done! Thank you for your continued support! Together, we are making a difference in the lives of many. It is through your generosity that God made all this possible!
