In December 2020, our organization embarked on a significant journey outside of Accra, Ghana, following a heartfelt invitation from Mr. Anaba of Nyamedua Children’s Home. Our destination was Bolgatanga, specifically the Zaare community, where we were eager to connect with the children and caretakers at Nyamedua Children’s Home Bolgatanga. This mission was made possible by God through the generous support of our donors and volunteers.
A Warm Welcome
Upon our arrival, we were greeted by a wonderful group of children and their caretakers. The warmth of their welcome set the tone for what would become an unforgettable week in the Upper East Region. We began our first night with introductions and enjoyed a delightful presentation from the children, showcasing their talents and creativity. It was clear that God had prepared this moment for us, allowing us to witness the joy and resilience of these young lives.
Engaging Activities
The following day, we engaged in soap-making activities that served as a means for the home to raise funds. This hands-on experience not only provided valuable skills but also fostered a sense of community among participants. As we worked together, we felt a profound sense of purpose, knowing that God was using us to empower these children and contribute to their well-being.
As the evening unfolded, we found ourselves led by divine inspiration into an unplanned crusade that lasted for three days. During this time, many individuals found hope in Christ, and numerous testimonies of physical healing emerged. Our team also took part in door-to-door evangelism, sharing the gospel with everyone we met in the community. It was evident that God made this possible through our collective efforts and dedication to spreading His love.
Health and Celebration
In addition to spiritual outreach, we organized a medical screening for over 80 people, including children and staff from the home. This initiative aimed to address health needs within the community and provide essential care. The gratitude expressed by those we served reaffirmed our mission's importance and reminded us that God works through us to bring healing and hope.
To celebrate Christmas, we hosted a festive party for the community. Many people joined us to enjoy delicious food and share in the joy of the season. It was a heartwarming occasion that brought smiles to faces young and old. This celebration was not just about giving; it was about creating lasting memories and fostering connections within the community.
Lasting Connections
Our partnership with Lighthouse Chapel International in Bolgatanga proved fruitful as well. Through this collaboration, we connected the children and community members with the church, where they continue to be active participants today. This ongoing relationship is a testament to how God has made it possible for us to create lasting change in the lives of those we serve.
